In the aftermath of Hurricane Irene, U.S. Senator Charles Schumer and FEMA Regional Administrator Lynn Cantor toured Philipstown, NY at the invitation of Town Supervisor Richard Shea. The result of this tour was the designation of Putnam County as a Federal disaster area eligible for public and individual assistance.
